Coromandel Local Tips

A fun, friendly town vibrant arts scene with a strong community spirit

The Waterworks is a 10-minute drive from the charming town of Coromandel. This attractive heritage village still has many old buildings, houses and churches from colonial times.

If you walk on the wonderfully scenic main street, you’ll feel right at home in the hustle and bustle of local life. Cafes, restaurants and gift shops sit alongside local stores, laundry, school and Four Square supermarket.

A popular holiday destination for people from Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga. The three-hour drive allows you to shake off the stress of city living and replace business clothes with shorts, jandals and a t-shirt.

With its unique character, relaxed, laid-back lifestyle and spectacular natural surroundings, Coromandel offers attractions to suit all, whether visiting for the day or longer, and always invites you to return.
