22 Aug Gold Rush Rally Special

18 Dec - Summertime Fun @ The Waterworks

Summer is officially here and we are super busy here at The Waterworks making sure that all our quirky contraptions and wacky inventions are in top notch condition prior to summer.

Our mad inventors have been working overtime coming up with new attractions (see below) and to top it off we have a wonderful new toilet block all ready for summer, Yes that's right.. say goodbye to the long drops – they are gone for good!  We are so pleased to finally have in place modern amenities for our wonderful customers!

Did you know the 309 Road has recently been sealed?  No more dusty gravel road to contend with when you are cruising down one of The Coromandels most well known “off the beaten track” roads.  Here at The Waterworks we continually read and respond to our visitor comments, 2014 has been a year of upgrading our park to meet the demands of our loyal customers.  With the continual upgrading and addition of new attractions we hope to see you coming back in the years to come.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Waterworks this summer.

Bring a picnic and don’t forget your togs, the Waiau River is the perfect place to cool down on a hot summer’s day.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year – Bring on 2015!

What a busy few months we have had here at The Waterworks! The flowers are blooming, trees are budding and the birds are singing - Spring has sprung and we are very excited for summer!  Our mad inventors have been working tirelessly behind the scenes coming up with quirky new attractions and working on a new toilet block! Yes, you read correctly… The long drops will soon be a distant memory as we plan to open our brand new wheelchair friendly facilities in the next few months! Check out some of the renovation images below.

We are also delighted to announce that we will soon be opening 3 new attractions…
Two of the worlds biggest and most frightening see saws, OK, a bit of an exaggeration but they really are big! A super dooper tyre swing that goes out over the beautiful Waiau River and Bugingham Palace!

PLUS we have our always popular $5 entry day in early December so keep an eye out here and also on our Facebook Page for more information coming soon.

The Waterworks is proud to be a sponsor of the 2014 Illume Winter Festival of Light  in Coromandel Town.  For 9 nights in July, beginning on Friday July 4th and running through to July 12th, Coromandel Town will be lit up like never before.

There will be creative lighting illuminating the historic architecture, massive projections turning the town's walls into large colourful screens - telling stories of our cultural, natural and artistic heritage, there will be interactive activities for kids of all ages. There will be lanterns, fire, reflections and shadows.

Set against this rather high tech backdrop, on most nights of the festival we will have special feature events:

  • Opening night parade on Friday 4th July.
  • Free street concert on Saturday 5th July, featuring bands Bond Street Bridge and Mamaku,
  • Lanterns in the park on Thursday 10th July
  • Twisty Twins performing on the Friday 11th July
  • D.Js/M.C's with street performers on Saturday 12th July

20 May - Autumn News @ The Waterworks

It’s hard to believe we are nearly half way through the year!  The leaves are changing to beautiful shades of amber and our staff are working overtime raking up those leaves and getting the gardens in tip top shape for winter.

If you haven’t spent a day at The Waterworks in while Autumn is a beautiful time to visit, the park is a little bit quieter than it is over summer which means you can have as many turns on the flying fox as you would like without having to line up!  With all the beautiful weather we are having you really can make a day of it and enjoy the idyllic surrounds while having a blast with our quirky contraptions and thingamajigs!

Just before Summer we introduced a few new attractions to The Waterworks, this month we are featuring Bens Bog, this is quite clever and also a little clue as to our HUGE announcement coming soon.  This toilet was donated to us from a staff members son who is named Ben, so Bens Bog seemed like a pretty suitable name!  As we all know toilets are usually a one way street, not at The Waterworks!! Check out the images below of one of our customers trying to get a head start on this attraction… let’s just say she didn’t come away dry!

Thanks for taking the time to check out our website and we hope to see you soon at The Waterworks.
